As Catholics and as Americans, we cherish our Religious Liberty, which is among the first freedoms enshrined in the Bill of Rights. This freedom includes not only our right as disciples to worship God and evangelize, but also necessarily contains our right to enter the public square as Catholics, equipped with faith and reason, in pursuit of the common good. As experience has taught us, the stakes are high. A free, creative, and robust civil society depends on our contributions as people of faith.
